Huron Charter Township (HCT) Senior Citizen Recreation – NEWSLETTER AND CALENDAR

HCT Senior Citizen Recreation provides recreational activities, programs, and trips for community members age 50 plus while providing a welcoming, non-discriminating place to maintain and/or make new friends, decrease isolation, and to help stay mentally and physically strong and active. To learn more about the programs currently being offered, please read through our Newsletter and Calendar.

Huron Charter Township Senior Citizen Recreation in Agreement with Wayne County Senior Services - “THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM” (T.E.F.A.P.)

The MONTHLY Wayne County Senior Citizen Services “THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM” (T.E.F.A.P.), also known as “FOOD COMMODITIES,” is a program developed to help those in need in our community. Distribution for Huron Charter Township (HCT) residents is via host HCT Senior Citizens Recreation and held in the HCT Krzyske Center once monthly, usually on the Fourth Tuesday of each Month from 10:00-11:30 AM for Huron Charter Township Residents who qualify.

Eligible Recipients are individuals residing in Huron Charter Township and are:

1.     with a household gross income at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Level and are age 55 or older and their spouses,

2.     are age 18 or older living with a disability and their spouses.

Recipients will be required to provide their name, address, age, and signature and/or an authorized signature by proxy for each individual receiving food commodities.

The Senior Alliance Agency is a nonprofit organization designated as the Area Agency on Aging for the 34 communities of Western and Southern Wayne County and is and equal opportunity provider. They connect older adults, individuals living with disabilities, and caregivers to available programs and services in our community.
